When citing a book in MLA format, don't forget to italicize the book's title and add which format (medium) the book is in (print, web).

Why Cite
In writing your research paper, you will usually use the ideas of previous authors. In order to use and build on those ideas in your paper, you must cite where information comes from.
There are three main reasons why you need to cite:
1. Helps to prevent plagiarism
2.This allows anyone reading your paper enough information to find the sources you used
3. Gives credit to the author
